Ash Fure
Ash Fure composes acoustic and electroacoustic works performed across Europe and the United States. Trained at Interlochen Arts Academy, Oberlin Conservatory, and Harvard University, she earned a doctorate in 2013 under the supervision of Chaya Czernowin. She also attended masterclasses with leading composers and took part in international academies and festivals such as Darmstadt, Acanthes, and Fontainebleau. During a residency at IRCAM (Cursus 2010–2011), she developed several multimedia projects and installations, including TripWire (2011, with Jean-Michel Albert) and Veer (2012, with Ellie Abrons and Adam Fure). Her instrumental works include Cyan (2009), Aperture/Iris (2010), Wire & Wool (2009), and Soma (2012). She regularly collaborates with ensembles such as the Arditti Quartet, Klangforum Wien, and the International Contemporary Ensemble, and has been a recurring guest at the IRCAM ManiFeste festival. Her music is performed at numerous international festivals and broadcast by specialist radio stations. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Julius F. Jezek Prize, the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis, the Busoni Prize, and a Fulbright Fellowship. She currently teaches sound arts at Dartmouth College.
