The starting point of Zuleikha Chaudhari’s new work is a war photograph taken in 1858, shortly after the East India Company mutiny – a key moment in India’s colonial past. Chaudhari combines her stage directing skills to Raqs Media Collective’s more theoretical approach. Together they explore the image in depth, revealing its artificiality.
