Bruce Gladwin
Bruce Gladwin, an Australian artist and director, has been the artistic director of Back to Back Theatre since 1999. The company’s mission is to produce works that challenge the boundaries of theatre, working, amongst others, with actors with disabilities. Bruce Gladwin has notably created Mental (1999), Dog Farm (2000), Soft (2002), small metal objects (2005), Food court (2008), The Democratic Set (2009), Ganesh Versus the Third Reich (2011), Super Discount (2013), and Lady Eats Apple (2016). These plays have been staged at several international festivals, including the London International Festival of Theatre, the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, the Kunstenfestivaldesarts, the Perth International Arts Festival and the Prague Quadrennial. In 2015, Bruce Gladwin was honoured by the Australia Council for the Arts for his contributions to the theatre. In 2023, he will present The Shadow Whose Prey the Hunter Becomes as part of the Festival d’Automne.
