Deena Abdelwahed

Deena Abdelwahed is a Tunisian producer, composer, and DJ based in France. Her work combines electronic music, sound research, and influences drawn from Arab musical traditions. Following the projects Khonnar (2018) and Jbal Rrsas (2023), she composes for stage and film, notably for works by Radouan Mriziga and Essia Jaïbi. She is also engaged in research at IRCAM on new MIDI instruments designed to accommodate the nuances of Arab music. Her debut album Khonnar (2018) and her EP Klabb (2017, InFiné) received international critical acclaim, following a collaboration on Fever Ray’s second album. Trained within the Tunisian alternative scene (World Full Of Bass, Arabstazy), her hybrid DJ sets have taken her from Berghain to Glastonbury, and from Dekmantel to Sonar. She also contributed sound design to Magec/The Desert by Radouan Mriziga, presented in 2025 as part of the Festival d’Automne.
