Eva Reiter

Eva Reiter, a graduate in recorder and viola da gamba from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2001) and the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam (2006), pursues a dual career as a composer and performer, bridging early and contemporary music. Since 2008, she has taught viola da gamba at the Linz Music School. She has collaborated with numerous contemporary composers and performed as a soloist with leading ensembles such as Klangforum Wien and Ictus (a permanent member since 2015). She is also active with the flexible collective Elastic Band, alongside musicians like Tom Pauwels and Yaron Deutsch. Her works have been featured at major festivals including Wien Modern, MaerzMusik, Ars Musica, and Musikprotokoll. Her awards include the Erste Bank Composition Prize (2016), the Queen Marie José International Composition Prize (2008), the Rostrum of Composers Prize (2009), and the Förderungspreis of the City of Vienna. She continues to perform early music regularly with various ensembles and orchestras across Europe.
