Kubra Khademi

Kubra Khademi, a Hazara performance artist and feminist from Afghanistan born in 1989, explores her life as a refugee woman through a resolutely political body of work. A graduate of fine arts in Kabul and Lahore, she began creating public performances to denounce patriarchy. In 2015, following the creation of her piece Armor, she was forced to flee Afghanistan. She obtained French citizenship in 2020. Knighted in the Order of Arts and Letters, she now exhibits in international institutions and collaborates with Galerie Eric Mouchet. In 2023, she created The Golden Horizon at the Théâtre de la Ville.

One's own room inside Kabul is a visual and sound-based work by Caroline Gillet and Kubra Khademi, offering a sensory immersion in an Afghan living room. The audience follows the thoughts of Raha (Sumaia Sediqi), a young woman cut off from the world in the wake of the Taliban takeover.
