Lolo & Sosaku

Lolo & Sosaku are an artist duo from Argentina and Japan, based in Barcelona. They explore the possibilities of sculpture as an expanded field. At the heart of their practice lies the search for an object in relation to its environment and to the viewer. Their work spans several artistic languages, notably sculpture, installation, kinetic art and painting, whilst frequently incorporating music and sound. Their works tend to assert themselves as autonomous entities, seeking to transcend their mechanical materiality to open up to more immaterial, mysterious or unknown dimensions. Electronic music is a major source of inspiration in their practice. They convey its complexity through sound installations and sculptural compositions. Forms, lines, materials and sounds come together to give rise to moving sculptures that unfold like performances, developing their own language within a continuous process of transformation.
