Raghnild May

With a background in visual arts and music composition, Ragnhild May combines a sculptural practice with performance and sound art. She works with sound installation, sculptural objects, performance, vinyl releases, graphic notation, text and instrument technology. Sound is the material focal point for her works. Ragnhild May holds an MFA from Bard College (US) and is currently a PhD fellow at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (DK). She has exhibited and performed at TABAKALERA (ES) The National Gallery of Denmark, Museum of Contemporary Art, Overgaden. Institute of Contemporary Art, Rønnebæksholm as well as Issue Project Room (US), Roulette (US), Die Raum (DE) and SuperDeluxe (JP). Among others she has received Carl Nielsens Talent Price, International Studio & Curatorial Program, grants and awards from The Danish Arts Foundation and The Danish Composers’ Society. In the period 2019-21 she was part of The Danish Arts Foundation’s Elite Program. In 2022, May was an Arts and Media Fellow at DAAD in Berlin.
