Yassmine Benchrifa

Yassmine Benchrifa is a Moroccan dancer and choreographer working at the intersection of hip-hop and contemporary dance. After discovering hip-hop at the age of 12, she began training in contemporary dance in 2017 with Taoufiq Izeddiou. In 2018, she joined NAFASS, the first contemporary dance school in Morocco. In 2019, she created her first choreographic work, Her Life. In 2024, she won first prize at the TAKLIF contemporary dance competition in Marrakech. In 2025, she created her first professional solo, INCENDIA. Her work explores questions of identity, the relationship between the individual and the collective, and the connections between body, memory, and territory. She develops an approach that brings hip-hop and contemporary dance practices into dialogue.
