[Music]Toumani Diabaté is known as a fabulous accompanist for major African musicians, for instance Ali Farka Touré in his latest CD, In The Heart Of The Moon, that won a Grammy this year. He also owes his reputation to the extraordinary Songhaï, which bridges flamenco and West African music. He is less familiar as the son of his father – the king of kora – with whom he apprenticed, adding his own modern touch to the melodic line.
