The Centre Pompidou, the Festival d’Automne and the Goethe-Institut present an extensive retrospective of the films of Werner Schroeter (1945-2010), spanning a career of 40 years. A contemporary with Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Wim Wenders, Schroeter espoused more experimental, high camp aesthetics marked by his love for opera and theatre. Some films have been restored, others have never been shown.
