Leïla Ka
[Dance]
Leïla Ka began her career with urban dances, which she quickly crossed with other influences. After working as a performer, notably for Maguy Marin, she launched into her own creations.
As a choreographer, she has developed a singular style, influenced by theatre, contemporary and urban dance.
C'est toi qu'on adore evokes a minimal community, from two individuals to a thousand, which, oppressed, struggles again, falls but resists and always ends up rising again.
Bouffées, a short form set to electronic music, evokes the desire for freedom that rises to the surface of the body and crosses the skin.
In Se faire la belle, Leïla Ka gestures to our desire for freedom, liberty and life.

This work was awarded on June 26, 2022 by the concours Danse Élargie, organized by the Théâtre de la Ville, the Compagnie Terrain - Boris Charmatz, the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, the CCN-Ballet national de Marseille - direction (LA)HORDE and the Collectif FAIR-E / CCN de Rennes et de Bretagne.
