Alex Paxton
Alex Paxton (b. 1990) is an award-winning composer and jazz trombonist. His work is published by Ricordi (Berlin) and has earned numerous accolades, including the Ivor Novello Award, Paul Hindemith Prize, Ernst von Siemens Composer Prize, and the Royal Philharmonic Society Award. Known for his high-energy, genre-defying music, Paxton’s compositions are praised for their virtuosity, complexity, and emotional intensity. He has released three critically acclaimed albums: MUSIC for BOSCH PEOPLE (Birmingham Record Company/ NMC label), iLOLLI-POP (nonclassical), and HAPPY MUSIC for ORCHESTRA (Delphian), along with several smaller releases. His work is widely reviewed in the UK, US, and Europe and featured in major music publications. He contributed to Arcana X, edited by John Zorn (2021), and will release Delicious and Candyfolk Space Drum in 2025.
