Diana Szeinblum
Diana Szeinblum, dancer, actress, and choreographer, was born in Buenos Aires in 1964. Trained at the Taller del Teatro San Martín, she joined Oscar Araiz’s company early in her career. In the United States, she encountered the work of Müller, Nikolais, Tharp, and Panetta. In 1990, a Goethe-Institut scholarship enabled her to study at the Folkwang Tanzschule, where she danced with Pina Bausch’s company as well as with Susanne Linke and Urs Dietrich. From 2000 onwards, she created independent works including Secreto, Malibú, Alaska, and Una cosa por vez, which have been presented at numerous international festivals. She has also created work for several companies in Argentina, the United States, and Europe. Her performance work has been presented at Art Basel Cities, the CCK, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, and at various international festivals. She teaches in Argentina and abroad, developing a practice that moves between dance, theatre, and performance.
