Mélissa Guex

Mélissa Guex is a dancer, performer, and choreographer. She began her artistic journey in Brussels, where she studied performance, before completing a bachelor’s degree in contemporary dance at La Manufacture in Lausanne. An associate artist at Théâtre Sévelin in Lausanne for four years, she created several short pieces, including the solo De ceux – Episode (an improvisation format), as well as her first solo Sous sol. She has also collaborated with established choreographers such as Géraldine Chollet, Anna Marija Andomaitie for her piece Pas de deux, Augustin Rebetez, and Katerina Andreou on her first group work Bless This Mess, presented at T2G during the Festival d’Automne. In 2023, her second creation, Rapunzel, was shown at the Swiss Dance Days in Zurich. She is currently touring with her duo DOWN, developed in collaboration with drummer Clément Grin.

In the wake of disarray, grief and the downward spiral comes rallying cries. Following on from Bless This Mess, the choreographers Katerina Andreou and Mélissa Guex cement their reunion in a duo that is very nearly a concert. In as close proximity to the audience as possible, their infectious energy metamorphoses anger into collective joy.
