Nitsan Margaliot

Nitsan is a dancer, choreographer, researcher, and teacher. He began dancing in childhood and has worked notably with the Batsheva Ensemble and the Vertigo Dance Company. He later collaborated with various choreographers in Germany and France. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, USA. His practice operates at the intersection of creation, performance, and archiving. He is the initiator of Touching Margins – alter archive and of The Choreographic Institute, and co-curator of the Across Festival in Berlin. Alongside his artistic work, he regularly teaches at several higher education institutions, including the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and Burg Halle. His works have been presented in international venues such as 14th Street Y in New York, The 5th Floor in Tokyo, Radialsystem in Berlin, and LAB Frankfurt. His current research focuses on forms of movement related to pause, tuning, and interpretation, conceived as a vocabulary for exploring different temporalities.
