Sumaia Sediqi
Sumaia Sediqi, also known as Raha, is an Afghan entrepreneur and women's rights advocate. Born in Kabul in 2001, she began studying business management but was forced to interrupt her education after the Taliban banned women from universities. In 2021, she began documenting life under Taliban rule through voice messages sent with her friend Behishta Rahmaty to journalist Caroline Gillet. These recordings became the France Inter podcasts Inside Kabul and Outside Kabul, later adapted into an animated series by the BBC and France Télévisions, and into an immersive installation in 2025. Sediqi fled Afghanistan in 2023 and now lives in Strasbourg, where her family joined her in 2024. She co-founded DOR Afghanistan, a fashion brand promoting Afghan heritage and women’s economic empowerment. A graduate of the SINGA program and HEC Paris Launchpad, she continues to develop her impact-driven entrepreneurial work.
