[Music] For instance, within the past year, students in Teheran have been able to analyse works by Gesualdo and Messiaen with their professor Kiawash Sahebnassagh, who studied in Austria without straying from Persian traditions. Scores created in Israel and Koweit are recognisable, echoing their age-old traditions. Similarly, high – and low – brow are blended together with no fear of friction with the West.Credits
