Nicolas Bouchaud Paroles d’acteurs / Deux Labiche de moins
[Theatre]
As part of a yearly program of collaboration between young actors and experienced directors, Nicolas Bouchaud stages two plays by Eugène Labiche, a master of 19th century vaudeville. Bouchaud carefully avoids treating this supposedly “minor” genre as social satire, but rather stresses the uncanny, poetic and subversive dimensions at work in the plays.
