The Théâtre de la Ville-Paris and the Festival d'Automne à Paris are co-producers of this show and present it as part of the Israel Galván focus at the Théâtre de la Ville.

Born into deeply traditional families with high expectations of them, Israel Galván and Mohamed El Khatib had to adopt a variety of tactics with regards to their heritage in order to carve their own path in the world of artistic creation. Making use of their bodies as living archives, the duo of artists joins forces in the making of a "documentary dance" in which, in the shadow of their respective father figures, the intimate and the political become inextricably linked.

The former is a virtuoso and iconoclastic flamenco dancer. The latter makes theatre, films and documentary-inspired installations. With their first names placed side by side, Israel and Mohamed attempt to bring together their different worlds and artistic practices but also their own journeys in life. They do this by means of a dialogue from both sides of the Mediterranean, in which their various differences prove to be as fruitful as their affinities. What they have in common is a shared feeling of reticence, neither of them having ever really told their parents what they were doing. For a long time, their paths in life were zig-zag ones, caught between filial pride and a burning desire to find their own way in life. Together, under the astounded gaze of their fathers, they seek a common language based on the body, its wounds and scars. Taking as their starting point their initial encounter, as well as the sharing of the stories of their intimate, family and professional lives, the duo explores what a living archive and documentary dance might resemble.
