Those who dance mix with those who sing. Musicality passes through the bodies, carried along by the same vibrations. Un peu pour mon cœur… is a communion rite, and furthers Dalila Belaza’s exploration of the resonances between song, dance and music.

Tales which have been passed on via the oral tradition in her immediate family circle permeate the choreographer’s imagination. The same is true for her memories of past festivities, in which religious and non-religious poetry blends with the sounds of the instruments. Underlying the creative process, a painstaking observation of diverse communal ritual practices acts as a prelude to the emergence of the piece. Onstage, identitarian and cultural reference points fade away, leaving space for a choral narrative which speaks of the fundamental need to set up links between us. Dance is not mere display; it carries with it song, making it voice rather than body. With a heightened awareness of the forces acting upon them and around them, the performers receive and pass on a vibration which takes hold within them and unites them. In this way, they each takes up their place within the whole, composed by them via a dialogue of different rhythms and amplitudes. Moving and receiving at the same time, the dancers and singers relay each other via silent agreement, in a form of constantly renewed balance.
