Noa Frenkel
Israeli-born contralto Noa Frenkel is a versatile artist with a wide vocal range, performing repertoire from the Renaissance to contemporary music. Many composers have written works for her. Recent highlights include premieres by Jörn Arnecke, Kai Kobayashi, Thierry Pécou, Johannes Kalitzke, Rebecca Saunders, Chaya Czernowin, and Salvatore Sciarrino, in venues such as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Schwetzinger and Bregenzer Festspiele, Donaueschinger Musiktage, and the Elbphilharmonie. She has sung with leading ensembles like Ensemble Modern, Klangforum Wien, MusikFabrik, Ensemble Intercontemporain, and SWR Experimentalstudio, appearing at major festivals including Salzburg, Lucerne, Ruhrtriennale, and Wiener Festwochen. Since 2017, she has been Professor of Voice at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
