Wichaya Artamat

After studying film, Wichaya Artamat began working in theatre as a project coordinator for the Bangkok Theatre Festival in 2008. He joined the New Theatre Society in 2009, where he honed his skills as a director. Wichaya Artamat seeks to explore how society remembers and obscures history through certain days on the calendar. In 2015, he co-founded For What Theatre and is a member of the Sudvisai Club and Collective Thai Scripts. Wichaya Artamat presents his productions around the world, notably at the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels. From 2021, he has been presenting his work in France at the invitation of the Festival d’Automne, notably with Four Days in September (The Missing Comrade). In November 2025, he premiered The Dead Still Riot in Paris, an initial radio-based work in development for his forthcoming play Six Days in October.
