Fanny de Chaillé

Fanny de Chaillé creates stage work that blends theatre, dance, performance and installation. Her work focuses on the relationships between text, voice and movement. She studied aesthetics at the University of Paris-Sorbonne; she began creating performances in 1995 and went on to produce stage productions from 2003 onwards. Her projects explore different formats and performance venues, including the stage, galleries, libraries and public spaces. Her recent works include Désordre du discours, Transformé, Une autre histoire du théâtre and Avignon, une école. She has been an associate artist at several cultural institutions, notably Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse and the Théâtre de Nîmes. In 2024, she took over as director of the TNBA – Théâtre national Bordeaux Aquitaine and its school. In 2026, she will create two new projects with Thomas Hirschhorn, based on a text by Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse. Since 2014, she has regularly presented her productions at the Festival d’Automne. Fanny de Chaillé has been invited to direct 10 young actors and actresses for the Talents ADAMI Théâtre 2020 programme and the Festival d’Automne in Paris: Le Chœur.
