The Fondation de France is joining forces with the Festival d’Automne to support nora chipaumire’s artistic development.
According to the market concept dear to nora chipaumire, the Ménagerie de verre comes alive as a space for intersections, exchanges and encounters, where creations and know-how come together.
On the ground floor of the Ménagerie de verre, the Pistil café-canteen is also getting into the spirit of the carte noire. Its vegan menus draw inspiration from the world of the project and are served at lunchtime, as well as exceptionally in the evening during the three weeks of the Carte Blanche. An invitation to extend the experience of the shows, performances and encounters over a meal, but also to meet the artists of the carte noire alongside those of the Festival d’Automne, the teams from the Festival and the Ménagerie de verre, and all those who will bring this place to life over these three weeks.
The fashion house XULY.Bët is setting up a special corner featuring unique creations designed by Lamine Badian Kouyaté in dialogue with nora chipaumire: bags, T-shirts, as well as pieces from his past collections.
Throughout the carte noire, you can also discover the vast sound system installed by nora chipaumire in the OFF, the Ménagerie de verre’s legendary garage, a veritable wall of speakers offering multiple sonic textures, conceived as a space for listening and sharing.
And, laid horizontally on a dining room table, the Ideal Library imagined by nora chipaumire as a space for thought and transmission. A library that accompanies the struggles of the present and sketches out those of tomorrow. A selection of literary and sound works – drawn from the archives of Syllart Records – to see clearly and sharpen the gaze.
Finally, contemporary art organisation KADIST invites nora chipaumire to select works from its collection that resonate with the carte noire. Specially curated by the artist, this presentation brings together works by Chris Wiley, Caspar Heinemann, Kapwani Kiwanga and Beverly Buchanan within the very space of the carte noire.
